SRD created a hospital in Akhtarin, which is considered a district center for nearly 60 villages with a population of more than 150,000 people. About 6,500 patients per month receive care, including 200 baby deliveries and 70 caesarean sections.

“The hospital has gone through different stages of development. It started as a health center in the first month of 2017. During March of the same year the maternity department was created. Next, the dialysis department was opened,” said Faisal Al Aboud, director of the hospital.

There are 83 employees in the following departments: pediatrics, gynecology, dialysis, operating room, incubators, patient reception wards, ambulances, analysis insinuator, and a pharmacy.

Services provided meet international standards of health in the event of disasters. The center operates from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., six days a week, except on Friday. Services includes:

  • Secondary health care
  • Neonatal care
  • Pharmacy
  • Nutrition and management of malnutrition
  • Dialysis service
  • Radiology
  • Monitoring and follow-up of chronic diseases
  • Management and follow-up of infectious diseases
  • Psycho-social support services
  • Health education
  • Nursing services
  • Intensive care for children will finally be added
  • Reproductive health: 24-hour births, seven days a week (the same is true for ambulance and referral services)

In Syria, we seek relief and development through the Akhtarin Hospital and other facilities to provide services free of charge. We aim to alleviate their pain as much as possible and create a healthy society.
