The Moment of Panic
On a bright spring morning, as the family went about their usual day, Maysa found her youngest child, Mohammad Ali Hammamo, a 15-month-old toddler, lying motionless on the ground. Panic gripped her, and the moments that followed felt like an eternity.
Without hesitation, Maysa called for help from her neighbors, who rushed to transport the child to Al-Firdous Hospital on a motorbike. Maysa had heard of the hospital before, knowing it provided vital services for children and vulnerable families in the region.
Rapid Medical Intervention
Upon their arrival at Al-Firdous Hospital, the emergency team immediately attended to little Mohammad. Following a preliminary examination, the medical staff diagnosed him with acute seizure symptoms requiring urgent intervention to save his life. Dr. Abdul Karim Yassin, a pediatric specialist, led the medical team in handling Mohammad’s critical case. He recalled:
“The child’s condition was extremely critical, and we knew we had to act swiftly to save his life.”
Mohammad was promptly transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU), where he underwent gastric lavage and received the necessary medications. The medical team worked tirelessly to stabilize his condition, never losing hope for his recovery.

A Remarkable Recovery
As hours passed, Mohammad’s condition began to improve. By the next day, he received an additional dose of treatment, and the signs of recovery started to appear. Dr. Yassin highlighted the importance of the ICU in such cases, stating:
“The equipment and facilities in the ICU were vital in saving Mohammad’s life.”
By Saturday morning, after careful monitoring, Mohammad was discharged from the hospital in good health, regaining the energy and vitality his family had missed during those harrowing days.
