Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and education sessions to patients, following different medical and mental health protocols and procedures, to mobilize their inner resources for processing traumatic and difficult life experiences and finding new life perspectives.
- Identify potential IPD and OPD patients with the difficult coping process
- Follow up closely with the referred patients to mhGAP doctors.
- Elaborating an intervention plan according to the MHPSS needs of beneficiaries.
- Coordinate with the medical and CHW staff in providing multidisciplinary care for patients.
- Actively promote the availability of counseling services and carry out individual or group counseling, and basic psycho-educational sessions, to patients, and their families (when needed), in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.
- Take an active part in training, and supervision to receive regular on-the-job training and clinical supervision by the Mental Health specialist and support the activities manager when necessary, in doing sensitization for SRD staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.
- Participate in adjusting and creating psychoeducation topics and tools.
- Always maintain a respectful attitude towards clients, colleagues, other professionals, and staff.
- Provide ongoing monitoring of client’s status and maintain client’s documentation (files) accurately.
- Collect statistical data about sessions and counseling activities on weekly basis.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and regular attendance at counseling sessions.
- Provide feedback about daily activities and challenges to assist in the strategic planning of ongoing MH activities.
- Any other relevant tasks upon the request of the Direct Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Have excellent organizational skills
- Have the flexibility and ability to work effectively with various personalities and cultures.
- Microsoft office essential skills is preferred (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Strong professional and interpersonal communication skills
- Desirable Criteria: Female is preferred
- Ggraduated from related college like : Sociology, Psychology or Social Work, Counseling Psychology
- Certificates or Specialized Training in MH counseling
