Cholera Response
In September 2022, a cholera outbreak was declared in Syria, prompting a new wave of vulnerabilities in the northwest part of the country, forcing a fragile health system with limited resources to absorb yet another shock, particularly with the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic.
SRD teams have been responding to the cholera outbreak in partnership with local health authorities, and under the Cholera emergency task force, by implementing key initiatives, including infection prevention and control (IPC) measures, referral and transport of cases, awareness sessions to affected communities, and preparatory training for relevant health care workers.
