Community Health
SRD’s Community Health Program is committed to improving health outcomes by delivering essential services directly to the communities we serve. Through a dedicated network of trained Community Health Workers (CHWs), SRD addresses a wide range of health needs, including public health education, family health, prevention and management of both Non-Communicable (NCDs) and Communicable Diseases (CDs), nutrition support, and COVID-19 response initiatives. Our CHWs act as a vital bridge between communities and healthcare facilities, ensuring that critical health information and services reach even the most remote populations.
To maintain a high standard of community health services, SRD implements a robust supportive supervision strategy for our CHW program. We prioritize an optimal supervisor-to-CHW ratio to enable regular and meaningful guidance. Supervisors receive comprehensive training, equipping them to coach and mentor CHWs effectively. Supervision also involves observation of service delivery, review of performance data, and incorporation of community feedback to continually refine and improve our approach. This emphasis on quality supervision ensures that CHWs provide accurate information, deliver care with empathy, and build trust within the communities they serve. Through this integrated approach, SRD’s Community Health Program not only addresses immediate health concerns but also empowers communities to adopt healthier lifestyles for the long term.
